GASPARILLA, largest pirate event in the world! Not a pirate fest but a pirate theme Mardi Gras. A legacy of 100+ years, it’s a week-long charity event drawing half a million people & a thousand boats. Saturday afternoon parade now numbers 100+ floats & lasts hours. WE have some of the best seats! Catch more beads than you can carry! Party all over Tampa!
Friday Evening: AAARRRive at our Ybor City hotel followed by a two-block stroll to Gaspar's Grotto in downtown Ybor City, Pirate Central! Party with us or OYO!
Saturday: Short trolley ride to downtown Tampa. Trolley (11:00 am to 1:30 am) stop is only one block from our lodging! Visit Jackson’s Bistro over the S. Harbour Island Blvd. Bridge for brunch to watch the boats & ships enter the harbor. Then a short ½ mile walk over to our parade VIP area. No need to hurry later as you can party on into the night there or in Ybor, or head back to the hotel to relax. Some of us will return to Gaspar’s Grotto and/or hit some of the other clubs!
NOTE: A separate but associated day trip is being planned to accompany this weekender. The two groups will meet at the parade location and possibly back in Ybor City as well.
Check-out Sunday morning & breakfast. There’s time to visit local museums (additional expense) before heading home mid-afternoon.
