SinglesFocus.org®, the new, Florida singles events web site, may be used freely by viewer or singles event host. Advertisers are openly solicited to offset site development, maintenance, upgrades & promotions. We are in this for the long haul. The goals of SinglesFocus.org® are many but include: to greatly speed up singles event posting, to convey event info to as many singles as possible as fast as possible, and to encourage two or more organizations &/or individuals to cooperate on events. We also sincerely wish to draw attention to the existing singles clubs already in your area & to encourage the formation of new clubs to serve singles in areas not yet reached and interests not yet catered to. This is easily done through SinglesFocus.org® as it allows for minimal club administration: no postal costs, little or no dues, & very fast communication. Part of the motivation is that for all of the trouble that a singles event host will go to facilitating an event they deserve to have it well attended. The many advantages to this system have yet to be fully realized as innovation is regularly producing new ones and site enhancements are ongoing.

We are growing rapidly! As of January 2003 we are in Brevard Live. This magazine sees 15,000 copies each month sent to over 150 locations. Though Brevard County is our base of operations, this site is useful on a local level throughout Florida as the events list is sort able by area. We are also now very easily findable on the major search engines under singles events Florida: On Google we are number 9 of 120,000, on Yahoo we are 9 of 128,000, and on MSN we are the third link of almost 80,000 listings. And we’re less that a year old.

My optimism for this project largely comes from the numbers: The 2000 US Census reported that 82 million men & women in the US are unmarried. This includes ~ 20 million adults who are divorced, ~ 13.6 million widowed, & over 48 million never married! Additionally, we have observed that well planned and widely promoted singles events are very successful. However, most singles clubs are widely scattered & largely isolated from one another. No adequate tool for broad based communication on singles events has existed before, until now.

Finally, though this project is largely recreational in nature, we are committed to taking a business like approach. At its inception we joined the local chamber of commerce, joined & participate in a LEADS group, and are firmly committed to using every state-of-the-art tool & technique at our disposal. We are forward looking.

So hop on board. It is our intention that eventually there will be hundreds of events on the list at any one time running the full spectrum of activities all over the state from dinner & movie night to Fantasy Fest. The sky is the limit until we invent an aerospace plane!
